World Blood Cancer Day serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing battle against blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. At Nihon Kohden, we are steadfast in our commitment to supporting this fight by providing innovative diagnostic technologies that facilitate early detection, precise monitoring, and improved patient outcomes. Our hematology analyzers and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) solutions equip laboratories with reliable tools to deliver fast, precise results, thereby helping clinicians make critical, life-saving decisions.
Smarter Hematology Tools for Early Detection
Accurate and prompt diagnosis is crucial in the treatment of blood cancers. Nihon Kohden's hematology analyzers, such as the Celltac G MEK-9100 and Celltac G+ MEK-9200, are engineered to provide reliable, high-quality results that assist healthcare providers in identifying abnormal blood parameters associated with hematologic malignancies.
Celltac G MEK-9100: A fully automated 5-part differential analyzer, the MEK-9100 handles up to 90 samples per hour and reports 33 parameters, offering a comprehensive view of white blood cells (WBC), red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin (HGB), and platelets (PLT). Its micro-sampling capabilities require only 25 μL for CBC or 40 μL for CBC with differential. Using advanced techniques like DynaHelix Flow and laser scatter with flow cytometry, the analyzer ensures highly accurate cell counts and differentiation.
Celltac G+ MEK-9200: In addition to performing Complete Blood Counts (CBC), the MEK-9200 reports Reticulocyte (RET) parameters identified through the unique DynaScatter Laser +HEM488 Technology, contributing to accurate 5-part Differential and Reticulocyte results to support better clinical outcomes. Offering 39 parameters, including the Immature Reticulocyte Fraction (IRF), Low Fluorescence Ratio (LFR), Middle Fluorescence Ratio (MFR) and High Fluorescence Ratio (HFR), the MEK-9200 provides high precision and reliable CBC and RET results.
These diagnostic tools play a critical role in flagging early signs of blood cancers—such as elevated blast cells or abnormal WBC distributions—prompting timely follow-up and intervention.
Streamlining Laboratory Workflows for Enhanced Efficiency
Efficiency is paramount in cancer diagnostics. Nihon Kohden's systems, including the Celltac G+ MEK-9200 and Celltac G MEK-9100, are designed to optimize laboratory workflows without compromising accuracy. With high throughput capabilities of up to 90 samples per hour and continuous loading via a rack-fed system accommodating up to 7 racks of 10 tubes each, our analyzers support high-volume testing environments. The integrated validation station with a touch screen and barcode-controlled reagent management system further streamlines operations, reducing manual intervention and potential errors.
Moreover, the Smart ColoRack Match System enhances workflow efficiency by supporting fast and easy location of clinically abnormal sample tubes in addition to sample with barcode related issues. This helps the processing of critical samples, ensuring faster result reporting and improving the patient experience. The analyzer's compact design and user-friendly interface make it suitable for various laboratory settings.
Our Commitment to Combating Blood Cancer
On World Blood Cancer Day, we stand united with patients, healthcare providers, and researchers worldwide. At Nihon Kohden, we recognize that every early diagnosis, accurate test result, and streamlined workflow can significantly impact a patient's fight against blood cancer. By continuing to develop reliable, forward-thinking diagnostic solutions, we’re not just advancing hematology—we’re helping save lives. Together, we can continue to make strides toward better outcomes for those affected by blood cancer.
Let’s keep moving forward—through science, collaboration, and compassion.
