The epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) plays a very important role in the diagnosis and treatment of epileptic seizures. The EMU room is designed for long-term monitoring with the ability to record multiple video streams providing the clinician with synchronised EEG and visual patient information of seizure activity. Direct cortical stimulation allows for the accurate placement of stimulation electrodes and/or other surgical interventions.

The sleep lab performs polysomnography (PSG) studies to diagnose sleep disorders by monitoring electroencephalography (EEG), oxygen saturation, heart rate and breathing during sleep. A PSG study may also include the monitoring of eye and limb movements by electromyography (EMG). Infra-red technology allows for the recording of multiple video streams, providing the clinician with synchronised EEG and visual patient information.

Superior Data Quality in a Flexible Design

The Nihon Kohden JE-120A, 64- to 256-channel, amplifier with sampling rates from 200 Hz to 10,000 Hz along with superior engineering provide the highest quality signal processing.

Connecting to the JE-120A through the LAN converter (QI-123A), a secondary data stream can be controlled by a local or network research station and sent to a separate file storage location.

Configurability

  • Recordings with 64, 128, 192, or 256 channels are possible with the modular system (JE-120A).
  • Sampling frequency from 200 Hz to 10 kHz.
  • A 24-bit resolution for superior quality recordings.
Enhanced Software Capability

  • 3D voltage mapping for the topography of EEG abnormalities
  • DSA trend graph for a fast review
  • EEG PortaView software for consultation
  • polaris.one software for data management
  • Synchronized video image (resolution adjustable up to Full HD)

Long Term Quality

All-in-one solution: One junction box for long-term EEG integrates 32-channel EEG input and SpO2/ETCO2 inputs.. The JE-921A provides the highest signal quality and maximum reliability.

The QI-123A input box converter connects JE-921A to the EEG over a LAN network. This provides LAN connectivity and expandability for an EEG system in the EMU.
