PTZ cameras are suitable for Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMU) where the camera is ceiling mounted, allowing for remote-control of the PTZ camera to Pan, Tilt and Zoom from the EEG acquisition station. Standard and full high-definition resolutions are configurable options. Box-type cameras or webcams are suggested for use on portable EEG systems, as they are compact and light weight, and the camera angle and zoom can be adjusted by hand.
The digital video software supports dual IP camera capability, allowing images from two cameras to be displayed in the camera window, where one camera image has priority over the other. This allows for two different views to be available to the clinician at the same time.
When the room is darkened the IP camera automatically switches to night mode and the use of an infrared illuminator allows for clear patient images to be recorded.
