Strengthening Heart Safety at Deutsche Bank Park

Strengthening Heart Safety at Deutsche Bank Park:
A Two-Year Journey of Innovation and Collaboration

At Nihon Kohden Europe, we are proud to share the remarkable progress made in cardiac safety at Deutsche Bank Park, thanks to our innovative collaboration with EintrachtTech GmbH’s “Arena of IoT.” Over the past two years, we have set new standards in heart safety, combining technology with community engagement.

2023: Laying the Foundation for a Heart-Safe Stadium

In 2023, we embarked on a mission to enhance cardiac safety at Deutsche Bank Park. Our key initiatives included:

  • Deployment of Cardiolife AEDs: We strategically installed Automated External Defibrillators Cardiolife AED-3100 throughout the stadium, ensuring they are accessible within a critical 3-minute time limit during emergencies.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Our Cardiolife Connect solution introduced 24/7 monitoring of AEDs. This system ensures every device is fully operational and ready to respond, setting a new standard for proactive cardiac care.
  • HeartSafe Certification: These efforts earned Deutsche Bank Park the HeartSafe Stadium Certification, reflecting our commitment to safety for fans, athletes, and staff.

2024: Building on Success

In 2024, we expanded our efforts, focusing on infrastructure and community involvement:

  • Expanding AED Coverage: We increased the number of AEDs in and around Deutsche Bank Park, adding 8 new devices at critical locations, including administrative buildings and community venues. With 16 AEDs now strategically positioned, we offer unmatched readiness to address cardiac emergencies.
  • Community Empowerment Through Training: On Restart a Heart Day 2024, we hosted intensive AED and CPR training sessions at the IoT Garage in Eintracht Lab. Under the expert guidance of 2 ERC-certified Resuscitation Trainers, participants learned life-saving techniques, emphasizing the importance of swift action during emergencies.
  • Better Monitoring for Maximum Preparedness: We installed our Cardiolife Connect smart monitoring technology, ensuring the 24/7 operational readiness of all AEDs through centralized sensor-modem-based tracking. This proactive approach underscores the importance of reliability and immediate response, especially in high-traffic areas like Deutsche Bank Park.

A Shared Vision for the Future

The progress achieved in just two years is a testament to our shared commitment with Eintracht Tech to save lives and set new benchmarks for public safety. By combining advanced technology with community engagement, we have transformed Deutsche Bank Park into a flagship venue for cardiac care.

Looking ahead, our collaboration continues to inspire a broader vision for heart safety across Europe. Together, we demonstrate how innovation and teamwork can create safer environments for sports, concerts, and other large-scale events.

As 2024 unfolds, our journey with Eintracht Tech serves as a powerful reminder: when technology and community come together, lives can be saved.
