Critical Care

Early detection and timely intervention are crucial in critical care. Nihon Kohden utilizes advanced technology to transform invisible patient data into visible insights on monitors, facilitating comprehensive assessment of patient conditions. Integrated with their ventilators and defibrillators, this technology enables efficient monitoring and treatment in critical settings.

Patient data is seamlessly distributed and integrated across hospital systems, ensuring streamlined management and enhancing overall patient outcomes through effective data-driven care.

Prehospital

Comprehensive patient care to encompass pre-hospital interventions. Nihon Kohden ensures treatment during this acute phase by equipping healthcare providers with high quality devices that support start of the care cycle, from continuous monitoring to intubation, defibrillation, and resuscitation.

This equipement enable early and efficient interventions, optimizing patient safety.

Neuromonitoring (ICU)

Cardiac and respiratory monitoring are standard practices in the intensive care unit (ICU) environment today, however, electroencephalography (EEG) which plays a crucial role in determining the current status of the patient is not. Despite challenges associated with monitoring EEG in ICU, during this crucial phase of patient care, Nihon Kohden offers multiple solutions for EEG measurement.

Our innovative wireless EEG headset (CerebAir) enables the streamlined preparation and measurement enable faster EEG acquisition and long-term monitoring.  Clinicians are better supported with seizure detection algorithms enabled in the EEG trend software with the wired 38-channel junction box, allowing for the quick identification of seizure activity resulting in quicker clinical intervention for the patient.  Simplified EEG monitoring is available with modules on Nihon Kohden Patient Monitors, allowing for the EEG data to be displayed on the central nursing station.

As a result, EEG monitoring in ICU can be become a standard parameter for comprehensive patient care in this critical care setting.

Laboratory (IVD)

Nihon Kohden is a pioneering force in the realm of In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), offering cutting-edge solutions tailored for laboratory settings. Renowned for their precision and reliability, Nihon Kohden's IVD solutions empower healthcare professionals with advanced technologies that enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.

With a commitment to innovation and quality, Nihon Kohden continues to redefine standards in laboratory diagnostics, ensuring superior patient care worldwide.

Public Access AED

Sudden cardiac arrest occurring outside the hospital continues to be a significant public health concern. Currently, the primary method to restore normal heart rhythm during cardiac arrest is through the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Nihon Kohden plays a vital role by supplying AEDs to public access defibrillation (PAD) facilities worldwide.

Effective AED management is crucial to ensure their constant readiness. Leveraging remote AED management represents the most efficient solution for achieving optimal device performance and streamlined oversight.

Diagnostics

The quality of Nihon Kohden amplifiers ensure high quality electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) signals, providing clinicians with accurate clinically relevant data through our reliable detection technology.  Nihon Kohden technology has its roots in EEG, with over 70 years of experience, we have developed trusted technologies in medical technology field.

Our clinical data and reporting software efficiently manages cardiology and neurology data, streamlining the workflow for the associated examinations. Furthermore, this data can be seamlessly distributed to the appropriate hospital information systems via HL7 and DICOM.

Nihon Kohden’s unique technology supports cardiac examinations making the invisible aspects of cardiac health visible to clinicians for the efficient diagnosis events and diseases.

Ward

To ensure efficient patient care management, the transition from the critical care unit to the general ward is crucial. In the ward, patients engage in mobility and walk as part of their recovery process. Nihon Kohden offers an optimal monitoring solution that promotes an eustressful environment while maintaining secure monitoring through wireless technology.  Additionally, to facilitate proper monitoring and treatment within the wards, we provide an alarm management solution. Furthermore, our non-intubation ventilators enhance workflow efficiency and streamline clinical processes.

Neuromonitoring (Long Term)

The epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) plays a very important role in the diagnosis and treatment of epileptic seizures.  The EMU room is designed for long-term monitoring with the ability to record multiple video streams providing the clinician with synchronised EEG and visual patient information of seizure activity.  Direct cortical stimulation allows for the accurate placement of stimulation electrodes and/or other surgical interventions.

The sleep lab performs polysomnography (PSG) studies to diagnose sleep disorders by monitoring electroencephalography (EEG), oxygen saturation, heart rate and breathing during sleep.  A PSG study may also include the monitoring of eye and limb movements by electromyography (EMG).  Infra-red technology allows for the recording of multiple video streams, providing the clinician with synchronised EEG and visual patient information.

Medical IT

Nihon Kohden offers completed integrated multi-modality products that serve patients across all care areas. As experts in the specialties of neurology, patient monitoring, cardiology and pulmonology, we bring clinical solutions that provide access to a deeper, more comprehensive level of information, enabling more accurate diagnoses, ventilator support, and ultimately, better outcomes.
