NKV-550 Ventilation System

Nihon Kohden’s overriding philosophy inherent to the NKV-550 design is to Treasure Every Breath®. Our focus is to provide clinically relevant innovations and solutions for patients requiring mechanical ventilation.  The NKV-550 Ventilator System is suitable for neonatal through adult patients and is equipped with a range of applications and modes, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, O₂ therapy, and airway care apps.

The NKV-550 allows for seamless transitions between invasive and non-invasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen therapy, and respiratory support for all patient sizes. Clinicians can quickly adjust settings without changing equipment or breathing circuits, providing a more efficient and streamlined workflow.

LUNG PROTECTION

The NKV-550 is designed with a lung-protective approach to ventilation, featuring the Gentle Lung® Suite of applications. These tools provide clinically relevant and easy-to-use options for open-lung ventilation, helping to protect patients' lungs.

PROTECTIVE CONTROL

The Protective Control® feature provides a safe, fully functional second user interface to easily implement needed ventilator setting changes when treating patients with contagious diseases or who are undergoing a radiologic procedure while remaining within sight of the clinician.

COMPREHENSIVE MONITORING

The NKV-550 includes built-in SpO₂ and CO₂ monitors, as well as Nihon Kohden connectivity for bedside and central monitors, and an auxiliary pressure monitor. The system also features an integrated monitoring system with Cap-ONE and BluPRO.

WORKFLOW OPTIMIZATION

The NKV-550 offers customizable screen configurations enabling the ventilator to fit into your paradigm rather than require you to adapt to it. The system is designed with App-based processes that provide guided processes to help create a more streamlined, systematic way for clinicians to optimize the care of their ventilated patients. Additionally, the system requires simple, low-cost preventative maintenance every two years, helping to reduce the overall cost of ownership.
