The Nihon Kohden CNS‑9101 Central Nursing Station is a high‑performance monitoring system for continuous observation in intensive care, high‑dependency and ward environments. With dual wide displays and strong review tools, it consolidates waveforms, numerics and alarms from bedside monitors into one intuitive hub, helping teams make fast, informed decisions.

Comprehensive multi‑patient monitoring
CNS‑9101 is designed to follow many patients simultaneously while remaining clear at a glance. Two independent screens support flexible layouts for multi‑bed overviews and detailed single‑patient views, allowing staff to keep both broad situational awareness and focused clinical insight. It supports large‑scale monitoring for safe and efficient operation in demanding units.

Adaptive waveform and trend review
A time‑synchronised review function lets clinicians analyse live and historical information side by side. Full disclosure waveforms, graphical trends and tabular trends can be viewed together, all aligned to the same moment, making it easier to assess events and their surrounding context. Trend graphs show multiple parameters over extended intervals with selectable ranges and zoom for quick navigation.

Vital signs, numerics and haemodynamics
CNS‑9101 offers comprehensive tools for vital signs and haemodynamic assessment. It presents a wide range of measurements in structured layouts to support interpretation of complex cardiovascular status. The system displays extensive data units in the vital signs window and focused parameter sets in the numerics view. If an alarm occurs on a parameter not currently shown, the system automatically highlights it to avoid missed events.

Arrhythmia and ST‑segment analysis
Nihon Kohden’s ec1 arrhythmia analysis helps reduce non‑actionable alarms while maintaining safety. The system stores a substantial history of arrhythmia episodes for retrospective review. ST‑segment monitoring includes high recall capacity and simultaneous display of multiple traces to support early recognition of ischaemic changes.

An optional full‑disclosure program allows long‑term waveform storage across several channels.

Integrated ECG and alarm history
CNS‑9101 displays twelve‑lead ECG analysis, comparison waveforms and bedside reports directly at the central station. Each patient’s ECG history can be stored for ongoing assessment. A large archive of alarm files and extended alarm lists support structured review, documentation and quality improvement.

Structured alarm management & intuitive operation
Alarm management is systematic and transparent, with centralised settings for multiple patients and three clearly defined alarm categories. Colour‑coded indicators help staff identify where attention is needed most, and an escalation function increases priority when required. All settings are adjusted by touching the parameter on the screen, while programmable function keys provide rapid access to key views.

Connectivity and network integration
As part of the Nihon Kohden Life Scope network, CNS‑9101 integrates seamlessly into hospital infrastructures. It supports wired, mixed and wireless environments and can connect to telemetry receivers. HL7 Gateway links the network to clinical information systems, while NetKonnect enables browser‑based access to real‑time and historical monitoring data. ViTrac software extends multi‑patient visibility to mobile devices for remote viewing.
