Nihon Kohden UK Ltd – Carbon Reduction Plan

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility, Nihon Kohden UK Ltd is pleased to publish its Carbon Reduction Plan.
Nihon Kohden is globally dedicated to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, aligning our operations with broader sustainability goals and environmental best practices. As a healthcare organisation, we recognise the importance of minimising our environmental impact while continuing to support patients and clinicians with innovative medical technologies.
Our baseline year is 2023, serving as the reference point against which our carbon reduction progress will be measured. During this period, Nihon Kohden UK Ltd was not yet independently accredited under ISO:9001; however, since then, we have achieved this certification, enabling a more rigorous approach to monitoring, auditing, and minimising our emissions across multiple scopes.
We acknowledge that our initial calculation for transportation-related emissions overestimated Scope 3 outputs due to assumptions in pallet weight. From 2024 onwards, we are implementing a refined method using 'CO2e per/kg of goods shipped' to ensure more accurate reporting and reduction strategies.
In the year following our baseline, we have:
Achieved ISO:9001 accreditation, allowing us to systematically address emissions in all aspects of our business.
Continued transitioning our company vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric models, contributing to our long-term reduction goals.
