Nihon Kohden Europe Joins the Global Plogging Day Initiative
We're excited to share that Nihon Kohden Europe proudly participated in the BETTER FUTURE program by participating in a Plogging Day! This initiative is part of Nihon Kohden's ongoing commitment to sustainability and aligns with this year's theme for the program. Our team members came together to make a tangible difference in our community while promoting health and environmental stewardship.
What is Plogging?
Plogging is a global movement that originated in Sweden, combining jogging with picking up litter. The term comes from the Swedish word "plocka upp" (pick up) and "jogging." This simple yet impactful activity has become a worldwide phenomenon, engaging over 20,000 people daily in more than 100 countries. The pioneer of plogging, Erik Ahlström, started this initiative in 2016, and it has since grown through the power of social media and community events.
Our Event
On World Environment Day, our Nihon Kohden Europe team members took to the streets, parking, and neighbourhoods with rubbish bags in hand. Together, we collected litter, participated in cleaning our local areas and set an example for sustainable practices. This event not only fostered team spirit and physical well-being but also demonstrated our commitment to making a positive environmental impact.
Why We Plog
Participating in Plogging Day reflects our core values and commitment to sustainability as outlined in BEACON 2030. It’s more than just an exercise; it's a way to show our dedication to creating a cleaner, healthier environment for all. By engaging in plogging, we promote environmental awareness, physical fitness, and community unity.
